European Travels
Oh. My. Word.  This might be the most beautiful place in the world.  It’s just a little bit away from Berchtesgaden and the Eagle’s Nest.  It’s actually visible from the Eagle’s Nest.  But this picture is taken from the small area that juts from beneath the mountain backdrop.  The entire area is a German national park I believe, and the views are just breathtaking.  Maybe the Swiss Alps can top it, but I just can’t bring myself to believe that.  Anyhow, the lake is called Konigsee lake, which mean’s “King’s lake”.  It belonged to the Bavarian kings until the German states united under Prussia.  It’s a natural bowl and the wall will throw back sound (like trumpets, lol) so well that one can hear more than one echo.  There’s also a very old church on the island that served the inhabitants, because it’s a bit of a ways away from Konigsee town.  That said, I would love to return here and do some serious hiking.
